{"id":1395,"date":"2022-01-16T08:50:30","date_gmt":"2022-01-16T15:50:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/olivereats.ca\/?p=1395"},"modified":"2022-01-16T08:51:22","modified_gmt":"2022-01-16T15:51:22","slug":"chicken-gravy-without-the-chicken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olivereats.ca\/index.php\/2022\/01\/16\/chicken-gravy-without-the-chicken\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicken Gravy &#8211; without the chicken"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Handy recipe when your chicken doesn&#8217;t produce a lot of drippings.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\"><h3>Ingredients<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 c chicken broth (Knorrs is great)<\/li>\n<li>1 chicken boullion cube (optional)<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp soy sauce (secret ingredient!)<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp onion powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp dried thyme<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp dried sage<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c cold water + 3 tbsp corn starch<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp cold butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"shortcode-directions instructions\"><h3>Directions<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In a medium saucepan combine the broth, soy sauce, boullion cube and seasonings.<\/li>\n<li>Combine the cold water and corn starch in a small bowl or sealable container.&nbsp; Whisk the mixture or shake vigorously.<\/li>\n<li>Bring mixture in saucepan to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Whisk in the corn starch mixture slowly.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce heat to medium low.<\/li>\n<li>Simmer until desired thickness is reached.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from heat and swirl in the butter.<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<p>Thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/mywebsitehere.com\">https:\/\/mywebsitehere.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Handy recipe when your chicken doesn&#8217;t produce a lot of drippings.
