{"id":633,"date":"2017-07-23T10:03:21","date_gmt":"2017-07-23T16:03:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olivereats.ca\/?p=633"},"modified":"2017-07-23T10:05:53","modified_gmt":"2017-07-23T16:05:53","slug":"papaya-avocado-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olivereats.ca\/index.php\/2017\/07\/23\/papaya-avocado-salad\/","title":{"rendered":"Papaya Avocado Salad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gotta&#8217; do this salad at least once when papayas are in season!!<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\"><h3>Ingredients<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Romain lettuce<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Papaya (papayas are ripe when they turn yellow.\u00a0 Mostly green in the stores but will ripen on counter.)<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Avocado, not too soft<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/3 c red onion, chopped fine<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/4 &#8211; 1\/2 c sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 tsp dry mustard (spice section)<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 &#8211; 2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 tbsp papaya seeds<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 c white wine vinegar or tarragon vinegar (I like tarragon best)<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 c vegetable oil<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 green onions, chopped fine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"shortcode-directions instructions\"><h3>Directions<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cut up romaine lettuce into bite size pieces, as much as you need. Put in fridge or ziplock till ready to serve.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Halve the papaya.\u00a0 Scoop out 2 tbsp of seeds and put in blender.\u00a0 Discard remaining seeds, peel, and cut papaya into bite size pieces. Put in bowl in fridge till ready to serve.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cut up red onion.\u00a0 Put in bowl in fridge till ready to serve,<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Put sugar, mustard, salt, vinegar and salad oil in blender and mix until papaya seeds are about the size of ground pepper.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cut up green onion.\u00a0 Add to salad dressing and store in fridge until ready to serve.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Dressing makes LOTS so there will be left overs.
