{"id":648,"date":"2017-08-12T07:35:43","date_gmt":"2017-08-12T13:35:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olivereats.ca\/?p=648"},"modified":"2017-08-12T07:35:43","modified_gmt":"2017-08-12T13:35:43","slug":"sticky-date-pudding-with-toffee-sauce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olivereats.ca\/index.php\/2017\/08\/12\/sticky-date-pudding-with-toffee-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"Sticky Date Pudding with Toffee Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just as the name says&#8230;delish!<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\"><h3>Ingredients<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 c of dates, chopped (about 1\/2 pkg)<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tsp baking soda<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 c boiling water<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 tbsp butter<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 c sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 egss<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 c flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 1\/2 tsp baking powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tsp vanilla<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 c brown sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 c whipping cream<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/4 c butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"shortcode-directions instructions\"><h3>Directions<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li class=\"instruction\">Preheat Oven to 325<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Grease an 8&#8243; pan liberally.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Put the dates and water in a small saucepan and cook until dates are soft and mushy.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Remove from stove to let cool.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add eggs one at a time and mix after each.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add the four, baking powder and mix well.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add the vanilla.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add the baking soda to the cooled date mixture.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add the cooled date mixture to the bowl and gently fold in.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Pour the mixture into the greased pan.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Bake for 30 &#8211;
