{"id":81,"date":"2016-09-24T12:34:05","date_gmt":"2016-09-24T18:34:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/olivereats.ca\/?p=81"},"modified":"2020-12-23T10:50:57","modified_gmt":"2020-12-23T17:50:57","slug":"classic-spicy-meatloaf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/olivereats.ca\/index.php\/2016\/09\/24\/classic-spicy-meatloaf\/","title":{"rendered":"Classic Spicy Meatloaf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(1 hour, 350F)<\/p>\n<p>A delicious spicy twist on the classic meatloaf.<\/p>\n<p>Onions may&nbsp; be substituted for green onions (scallions)<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\"><h3>Ingredients<\/h3><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 tbsp unsalted butter<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 cup of finely chopped onion<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/2 cup of finely chopped green onions<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tbsp minced garlic<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2\/3 cup ketchup, divided into 1\/3 cups<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 tsp Worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 1\/2 tsp ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 1\/2 lbs ground beef<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3\/4 lbs spicy ground pork sausage<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 cup bread crumbs<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1\/3 cup minced fresh parsley<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 large eggs, lightly beaten<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"shortcode-directions instructions\"><h3>Directions<\/h3><\/p>\n<ol class=\"instructions\">\n<li class=\"instruction\">Preheat Oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Heat butter in a large heavy skillet over medium heat; cook and stir onion, green onions and garlic until fragrant, about 5 more minutes. Stir in 1\/3 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper into vegetable mixture; cook until warmed through, about 1 minute.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Mix ground beef, sausage, vegetable mixture, bread crumbs, parsley, and eggs in a large bowl; form into a loaf and place in a rectangular baking pan with 2 inch high sides. Cover loaf with remaining 1\/3 cup ketchup.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink in the center about 1 hour.
