Butter Cream Icing


  • 1 c shortening softened
  • 2 tsp flavoring
  • 3/4 cup cake flour
  • 2 lbs icing sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup less 1 tbsp water


  1. Mix together shortening, flavouring and flour. Add water. Mix icing sugar, and salt together.
  2. Add a small amount at a time mixing as little as possible.
  3. Makes enough for decorating cake as well.
