Korean BBQ Ribs

Easy and tasty!  You can use beef short ribs or flank steak.

Ingredients

  • For the Marinade
  • 1/2 c soy sauce
  • 1/4 c packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp peeled, finely chopped ginger
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 5 lbs beef ribs

 

  • For BBQ Sauce
  • 1/4 c hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 c sweet hot pepper sauce
  • 2 tbsp mirin (similar to soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

 

Directions

  • Combine marinade ingredients and pour over ribs.  I like to use a zip lock bag.  Marinate overnight if possible.
  • Fire up the BBQ and cook the ribs.  Depends on the size but likely 10 min a side on 350 degrees.  Throw out used marinade.
  • When ribs are done, coat with BBQ sauce and cook 2 mins more to brown (not burn) the sauce.
  • Serve!
