Taco Pie

Delish and feeds a group.  There likely won’t be left overs.

Ingredients

  • PIE
  • 1 pkg of wraps
  • 2-3 lbs of hamburger meat
  • 2-3 pkgs of taco seasoning
  • 1 lg or 2 medium jars of Tostitos Salsa Con Queso (cheese)
  • 2 medium jars of salsa
  • lots of shredded marble cheese (3-4 cups)
  • GARNISHES
  • sour cream or plain yogurt
  • chopped green onion
  • extra salsa
  • chopped fresh tomatoes

Directions

  • In a large DEEP frying pan, start browning the hamburger on medium heat.
  • When the hamburger is almost cooked, add taco seasoning and mix well.
  • Add the salsa and mix well.
  • Add in the Salsa Con Queso and mix well.
  • Leave to simmer for 1/2 hour or so to thicken the mixture
  • Meanwhile, spray a large casserole dish (at least 3″ deep, roughly 9″ x 13″) with Pam cooking spray.
  • Put in a single layer of wraps. Cut pieces to fit so that you have an even layer.  Don’t let the wraps go up the sides of the dish.
  • Spoon in a layer of hamburger mixture…about 1/3 of the total.
  • Add another layer of wraps.
  • Add another layer of hamburger mixture…another 1/3.
  • Add another layer of wraps.
  • Add remaining hamburger mixture.  Make sure that the wraps are sealed with the hamburger mixture.
  • Sprinkle shredded marble cheese on top….lots.
  • Bake at 350F for 1/2 hour or so.
  • Remove from oven and let sit for 1/2 hour. Pie will solidify so that it serves easily.
  • Cut in 4″ pieces and serve with garnishes.
