This is a sweet / salty brine that makes salmon awesome! Can do it on the BBQ with or without cedar planks. Adjust quantities as need be. Full recipe makes enough marinade for a full salmon.
- 1 c brown sugar
- 1 c maple syrup
- 1/4 to 1/2 c soy sauce
- 2 – 3 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp Kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- Mix all the ingredients together. Put salmon skin side up in a shallow baking dish.
- Pour marindade over. Add a bit of water so that marinade is almost to top of skin.
- Marinate for 8 hours and then drain.
- Cook salmon until just done.
