Salmon Filet Marinade

This is a sweet / salty brine that makes salmon awesome!  Can do it on the BBQ with or without cedar planks. Adjust quantities as need be.  Full recipe makes enough marinade for a full salmon.

  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 c maple syrup
  • 1/4 to 1/2 c soy sauce
  • 2 – 3 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Mix all the ingredients together.  Put salmon skin side up in a shallow baking dish.
  • Pour marindade over.  Add a bit of water so that marinade is almost to top of skin.
  • Marinate for 8 hours and then drain.
  • Cook salmon until just done.
