Crispy Oven Fried Chicken

(1 hour at 425F)


  • Chicken pieces with skin
  • 1/2 to 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika


  1. Preheat Oven to 425F
  2. Coat chicken with flour and seasonings by tossing in plastic bag.
  3. Put ¼ c shortening and ¼ c butter in shallow casserole dish and put in over to melt.
  4. Put chicken in pan skin side down.
  5. Bake 30 min.
  6. Turn skin side up and bake another 30 min.  Drain and serve.
