Chocolate Chip Banana Bread


  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas (about 4-6 bananas)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (adjust to your taste)


  • Preheat oven to 350F
  • Lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan
  • Mash your bananas with a fork in a large bowl. Make sure to have a mixture of larger and smaller chunks of banana. Stir in eggs, butter, and sugar and mix together until well combined.
  • Mix flour, baking soda, and salt together before adding it to the wet banana mixture. Stir together until most of the flour is combined, but not all.
  • Add in your vanilla extract and stir into the mixture. Finally, add the chocolate chips to the batter and mix together until all the flour is mixed in.
  • Pour batter into your loaf pan and bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the middle. Let cool completely before serving.
