Ingredients
- 4 cup flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 cup bran
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 ½ cup apple sauce
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 ½ cup sour milk
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup raisins
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup apple, chopped
Directions
- Preheat Oven to 375F
- Stir together dry ingredients.
- In a separate bowl, beat sugar and shortening until creamy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, and beat until fluffy after each.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just moistened.
- Spoon into muffin cups 7/8 full.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes
